What, you are 14???

Now that Kayden is 14, he gets to go to church dances.  It is soooo crazy to me that I have a teenager (who is looking older every day - and calls me "old" all the time).  Anyway, in the picture above, Kayden is ready to go to his first dance - New Year's Eve.  We teased him relentlessly, and along with Uncle Nate and Auntie Steph, we even threatened to go to the dance and show off our own moves.  Little does he know that I have to supervise one next month...he..he..he!

Next, is this classic pic of Kayden ready to go to the retro dance.  Look out ladies - this kid is hot stuff!

I think there is almost one dance a month - so for the next 10 years (because we have so many other little dudes who will partake) we will be kicking up our heels in anticipation of these fun events.  It is a good thing that K got his dad's attitude when it comes to dancing!

General Conference

I love General Conference!! It is so good to hear from our Church Leaders and receive inspirational messages on how we can improve our lives!  This year, for the Sunday morning session, we tried something different.  I bought a certain treat that went with some gospel themed words and each time you heard the word said, you could take a treat.  Let me tell you, my boys were sure paying attention!  Word to the wise - make sure to get lots of treats representing the Saviour - we ran out after the first talk!!!

Kub Kar Ralley 2012

This year we were down to one cub.  Mr C.  He chose to do a Hershey's chocolate bar as his car and was really pleased with the way it turned out.  Looks almost good enough to eat, don't you think?

Here is the chocolate bar vs. Mario.  Mario ended up the big winner, but the bar still brought home a prize for design!!  Yay for kub kars!

Young Women in Excellence 2012

I saw this cute idea of using paper streamers as a back drop at a party and I thought it would be a fun and simple idea to decorate for YWIE.  We also had the girls made a plaque with the "Arise and Shine Forth" them (using scrapbook supplies and dollar store frames).  We then had paper lanterns and paper suns hanging from fishing line from the ceiling.  I think it turned out pretty cute and the girls LOVED it!

Valentine's Day

I love HOLIDAYS!  This year for Valentine's Day, we had a festively decorated table with "Hawaiian Punch" in fancy glasses.  Usually, for St Patty's day, we have green food, but this year, it was a little too crazy and we had other plans, so we skipped it.  There is always next year!

Basketball

I have a bizillion pictures of the 2011 Basketball season, so even though it has been over for a while, I thought I would post some.  Kayden had a great season this year.  He really improved as a player and had a couple of out of town tournaments (which his family even tagged along).  We enjoyed watching an inside sport too (although we love watching football, b-ball is much warmer).  Now, Kayden is taking a break from sports - well, until spring football camp starts next week!

NO Christmas

Okay, so, here it is - it is now April and I have not yet posted my Christmas stuff yet.  So, I feel really silly and I am not going to do it.  I made a lovely shutterfly Christmas album, so Christmas 2011 has been documented, just not on here!  But, I did want to post this picture of all these cute cousins.  We have such a great time with our cousins from the South!  We love them so very much and can't wait to see them this month, when they come up to visit for a very special occasion!
