April FOOLS!

Every year the Halladay house is full of tricks and jokes on April 1.  Not only is it April FOOLS, but, it is also birthday to our one and only crazy man, Ty.

This year, Tyler got his toe nails painted during the night.  Carter woke up to a sweet fake mustache.  Kayden had chocolate smeared on his bathroom toilet - it was too funny, cause Tyler did it and it looked like a mammoth sat on his toilet.  Jaren had the best prank played on him.  His momma fashioned some dog poop out of yummy brownies and put it on his bed.  Lindsey called him in to his room and told him the bad news - the dog had pooped on his bed (it looked SO REAL).  Jaren was grossed out, but in his true character, tried to shove Carter in to the "poop."  Good thing Carter knew it was fake, otherwise I think we would have had a battle on our hands.  And yes, the boys ended up eating it after all was said and done.  YUCK.

Marker on faces came from Kayden falling asleep during General Conference and truly, I think Jaren just wanted one!

Happy Birthday TYLER!

Tyler Robert Halladay was not like any of this brothers - Right from the start!  He was born via c-section in the middle of the night AND on April Fools Day!  What a great way to begin a life of fun and laughter!  Tyler was the smallest of the boys - weighing in at 10 lbs even!  He was (and still is) a real cutie!

Tyler loves to make faces for the camera - and well, sometimes he is just making faces for fun!

Tyler has always loved playing outside!  The muddier the better!

A little mess on your face, anyone??
Cutie dinosaur!  Like Kayden, Tyler has a passion for paleontology and one year for Halloween I made him this costume.  It had to be a black dinosaur with purple - and that is what it was!
Another thing we love about Tylo is his desire to create weird food combinations.  Here he is making a bun with a yogurt tube, cheese string and peanut m&m's.  Yum.
This is my handsome, growing oh so big and fast - 7 year old!  Tyler you are so funny and cuddly and lovable and we are so blessed to have you as part of our family!  Happy Birthday!

Planning

At our house, we have always been filled with April Foolery.  The boys have come to love (and expect) their mom to play tricks on them! Then, seven years ago, this April, we were blessed with our own April Fools Surprise!  TYLER!  Now, it is an extra special day!  Last year, at his party, I surprised Tyler with a pizza cake - complete with pizza box and everything!  He loved it!  Especially since we had pizza for the party too!  It was funny when we asked the kids if they wanted more pizza, but it was really cake!
This year, Tyler wanted some more cake trickery!  After a long search, I think we have come up with the idea.  A couple of years ago (or maybe it was just last year - I have a bad memory), I made a hamburger cake for Jaren.  It was a large burger - about the size of an 8x8 pan.  So, from this, Tyler (with help from Carter) decided that it would be fun to make multiple, smaller, burger cakes.  Great idea.  This was one of the easiest cakes I have made, so hopefully, the smaller, regular sized burger cakes will be the same!  As for tricks on the boys, well, I haven't nailed those down yet.  It seems like I have played a whole lot of food pranks and I might be doing something a little different this year.  We shall see.  I will share it on the blog after this festive day is over!
